Training for Commissioners/MCCF grant applicants set for January 16

Local nonprofits and faith-based organizations in need of funding to enhance an existing program or to help start a new program are encouraged to apply for a grant from the $250,000 in funding to be distributed in 2024 through the McKean County Commissioners and McKean County Community Foundation (MCCF) partnership. Applicants are invited to attend an informational meeting and grant writing training on Tuesday, January 16. The meeting will be available either by Zoom or in person at the Seneca Highlands IU9 office in Smethport at 4:30 pm. Organizations are asked to please register by emailing mccf@mckeancountyfoundation.org.

Nonprofit agencies include any 501 (c) 3 nonprofits that serve the residents of the county and faith-based organizations that provide community services. Grant requests must seek to support projects or programs that will impact McKean County residents by meeting the needs of the community rather than the needs of individuals. Projects can expand or enhance current programs or fund new programs. All programs and projects should have a plan for sustainability. The McKean County Commissioners have provided funds of up to $250,000 for distribution in 2024. These dollars represent a portion of McKean County’s American Rescue Plan Act.

MCCF will once again administer and distribute the grants for the 2024 granting cycle. Applications are now available on their website at www.mckeancountyfoundation.org. The grant application deadline is February 21, 2024. The maximum grant award for each organization is $10,000. If you have questions, contact the Community Foundation.
