McKean County Commissioners and Community Foundation to award $250,000 in grants in 2024
Local nonprofits and faith-based organizations serving McKean County can welcome the new year with the opportunity to apply for a grant to support their programs and projects that will impact McKean County residents. The McKean County Commissioners and the McKean County Community Foundation (MCCF) have partnered for a second granting cycle to award and distribute $250,000 in grant funding in 2024 with dollars available through the American Rescue Plan Act.
An informational meeting is planned for Tuesday, January16, 2024 for any potential applicants. The meeting will be available either by Zoom or in person at the Seneca Highlands IU9 office in Smethport at 4:30 pm. Organizations are asked to please register by emailing mccf@mckeancountyfoundation.org.
In 2022 this partnership was able to help 40 nonprofit organizations by distributing nearly $250,000 across the county. The McKean County Community Foundation will once again administer and distribute the grants for the 2024 granting cycle. Grant requests from local nonprofits or faith-based organizations must seek to support projects or programs that will impact McKean County residents by meeting the needs of the community rather than the needs of individuals. Projects can expand or enhance current programs or fund new programs. All programs and projects should have a plan for sustainability.
Applications are now available on the Community Foundation website at www.mckeancountyfoundation.org. The grant application deadline is February 21, 2024. The maximum grant award for each organization is $10,000. If you have questions, contact the Community Foundation.
