We Are Growing Together
Currently the McKean County Community Foundation (MCCF) has a special open grant opportunity in partnership with the McKean County Board of Commissioners. Read more below about these special grants. The good news is we are growing as we work with individuals in McKean County to develop and fund programs that will have a real impact in our community.
The McKean County Community Foundation will continue to build a strong Foundation by helping individuals and corporations fulfill their philanthropic dreams through the creation of permanent funds to perpetually benefit the charitable organizations or causes they care about in McKean County now… and for generations to come.
Competitive Open Grants are awarded through established funds, each having their own purpose, timeline, and requirements. The grants are made possible through the generosity of individuals, families, and organizations who have created funds to make a difference in their communities. For now we have a few special granting opportunities.

McKean County Commissioners partner with the McKean County Community Foundation to distribute second round of ARPA grants – $250,000 available
Grants to enhance the lives of the residents of McKean County are now available through the McKean County Community Foundation (MCCF) and the McKean County Board of Commissioners partnership. This is the second grant cycle that the Commissioners have partnered with the Foundation to administer and distribute a portion of the dollars they received through the American Rescue Plan Act.
An informational meeting was held on January16, 2024 for any potential applicants. To see a recording of that meeting here is a link to our YouTube video: https://youtu.be/bwdHZP0qzJA
In 2022 this partnership was able to help 40 nonprofit organizations distributing nearly $250,000 across the county. This grant cycle will offer more opportunities for our local nonprofits and programs within faith-based organizations that serve the public.
The grant requests must seek to support projects that will impact McKean County residents by meeting the needs of the community rather than the needs of individuals. Projects can expand or enhance current programs or fund new programs. All programs and projects should have a plan for sustainability.
Applications are now available below to any county-wide 501 (c) 3 nonprofits, as well as faith-based organizations that provide services to the public in McKean County. The maximum grant award for each organization is $10,000. Please only ask for what you need. Overhead and salaries should not exceed 10% of the request. If you have questions, contact the Community Foundation. Click below to access the application.
