As a charitable foundation newly established in 2017, granting monies are limited to our Covid-19 Assistance Fund and our Women’s Giving Circle grants. We have awarded our first set of grants in 2020 totaling nearly $23,000. As our charitable funds grow we look forward to helping our donors make a positive local impact. We encourage individuals, businesses and organizations to consider creating a fund with a vision of making McKean County an even greater place to live. Come grow with us!
Granting Philosophy
The McKean County Community Foundation follows these guidelines for funding grants as part of its mission to promote the betterment of McKean County and to enhance the quality of life for all residents.
Awards are made to non-profit organizations that provide services within McKean County and surrounding communities.
Grants are made primarily to tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organizations.
The Foundation seeks to meet the needs of the community rather than the needs of individuals.
Grants are made to support programs serving all persons, regardless of race, religion, or creed.
Grant applications are accepted throughout the year, as directed by each fund.
A follow-up evaluation is required for all awarded grants.
